COMMON SENSE SOLUTIONS FOR AMERICA

A skilled tactician uses common sense and detailed analysis to fix America's biggest problems - health care, the national debt, social security, taxes and government

Authored by Kathryn Murphy Brown

This book is in the process of being rewritten. Because of its raw math-driven white paper approach, it either puts people to sleep or turns them off because of the political acrimony. Two properly revised books will take its place. The first will cover just basic and affordable universal healthcare, which should be available by April 2012. The second will follow.

Imagine an America that provides healthcare for all and the federal budget is one-third smaller. Imagine an America where Social Security is solvent all the time, and taxes are paid fairly. Imagine an America that lives within a sensible budget.

Instead of the socialism of ObamaCare or the free-market insurance model, Kathryn Brown has crafted a plan to provide basic universal healthcare - without paying for insurance. States that agree to opt-in would fund it through a sales tax on all purchases, except those considered necessities of life (food, clothing, gasoline, etc.). Those states would then administer BasicCare using private competitive-bid contractors to control costs.

BasicCare is not intended to cover all healthcare needs; it's intended to cover the most common. For additional coverage beyond BasicCare, the choice of no insurance or additional insurance would still be available.

Deep in debt and on the verge of becoming enslaved to taxes, this skilled and practical-minded MBA uses simple terminology and useful aids to show how we can save $600B/year in healthcare costs and fix our biggest financial problems, while reducing the federal budget by over $850B/year.

Common Sense Solutions for America is the "The How-to-Manual to Restore American Greatness."

SPECIAL NOTES: This self-published book was published through CreateSpace, an Amazon LLC company.

The dashes (---) on the CreateSpace and Amazon book pages were inserted by the author to indicate what would ordinarily be separate paragraphs on the Amazon book page, because the CreateSpace software (sent to Amazon) does not format properly at Amazon. This might be an Apple software vs Microsoft software problem that Amazon opts not to fix.

Although consumers expect books to be discounted - because the list price generally represents quality, and the difference between the list price and selling price represents value - both CreateSpace and Amazon rarely offer a discount on a CreateSpace published book, and even then it's small - see CreateSpace book prices on Amazon. This seems like quite bizarre behavior when we consider that the object is to sell books. When asked what their discount policies are, Amazon avoided an answer by referring me to CreateSpace, and CreateSpace instead instructed me on how to create my own discount on my CreateSpace book page, a page rarely seen by others. In-fact, CreateSpace does not provide a listing of the books it publishes on its website, so it's hard to understand what good that does - a book that can't be found can't be purchased. And the author discount has nothing to do with publisher and or seller discounts. The author has therefore tried to compensate by reducing the selling price as much as she can and still make a profit.

CreateSpace also requires the author to purchase all hardcover books and sell them herself, which she has opted not to do.
